Colgate Games 2015
The stadium stood in front of us as we approached the registration room. Wellington was sunny this time round. My heart was pumping but to be honest I thought mum was more nervous than me. I received my shirt and band and prepared for the next day.

The next day came upon us as we got ready for my first event, I prepared myself for the following race (200m), my coach William warmed Stella and I before the officials called us to the tent.

The tent stunk like sweaty competitors as the air could not flow through it. The officials were young and all of them wore nikes, some wore whistles around their necks and most of the girls wore bracelets.

One by one we walked onto the track, it was hotter than usual, blocks were lined in each lane. Cameron, Coby and Connor stood at the barrier cheering, I smiled but at that same time I was more nervous than anything.

The race began with a boom, my feet bursted out of the blocks and I was away. Coming down the straight, I could hear mum's voice yelling like crazy. My legs took one step and by this time I had crossed the line.

A counter was given, I looked 2nd place, that's alright I guess. Later that evening I looked at the results window, my name was written tidily in arial font saying I had successfully made it into semi finals.

Mum and I jogged back to the warm up area, I suited up (put my spikes on) and stretched. I hugged mum before entering the tent again, lines of girls sat waiting for the same race and by now my head was spinning with anxiousness.

I walked out onto the track, blocks were lined in each lane messier than before. “On your marks, set, bang!” I was gone like a tiger. I sprinted around the bend and down the straight my legs stung and my arms stiffened. My mind quoted your body can do anything it's your mind you have to convince.

I crossed the finish line 5th. Mum smiled with happiness well William congratulated me, and although I didn’t make it to the 200m finals I was very proud of myself.

Day 1 was a challenging, competitive and fun day well day 2 and 3 are next to reveal. Not only did I qualify finalist in both 100m and High Jump, I have next year to come.

Mum
Do you have a mum as awesome as mine? Well my mum has great knowledge about sport, and is so competitive that we still have to race down the street to see who’s faster, I mean we already know who’s going to win (me). She has a great sense of humour and is always supportive. Most of the time mum is very organised, and always knows best. It’s wonderful to have a mum like mine.

My mum has a great personality and is always a kind loving person. Did you know she is a black belt in karate, so if she says you better watch out, you better watch out. My mum is a multi talented woman and shines wherever she goes.

My mum’s eyes are bluey greenie just like the glistening water, she always has a spark in her eye that lights up her face. My mum is as tan as milk chocolate slowly melting in the hot air. Her hair is brown with streaks of gold that sways around when she walks. She wears a variety of clothing but loves shorts and dressy shirts. Another thing is that she loves the brand Adidas and wears her sneakers a majority of the week.

You can say she has a great passion for teaching and is very good at it too. My mum has a very well known knowledge of Te reo and likes to join in on other celebrations too. Being a mum of 3 means she is always out and about. Lets keep it between me and you but man she can be embarrassing sometimes, have you seen the way she smooches me on the cheek in front of my friends? And although she does that, it’s a pleasure to have a mum like mine.

My Art Blog Post

My Art

I am blogging this because I am so proud of the effort and work I put into my art.
This piece of art relates to me because monarch butterflies are humble and magnificent
and the symbols I have drawn represent me in that way.
I have created a movie and a pic collage about my art.
I hope you enjoy.

This is a pic collage I have made by taking snippets of my art.

This is an I movie I made to my personal best. I hope you like it because I love it.

  4. Each butterfly will be coloured different colours for it still to look like a butterfly. t
  5. The butterfly that represents quotes will be melted crayon and then the quote will be written in black sharpie or gel pen
  6. The home butterfly is quite technical so it will have to be sketched then sharpie then coloured I want it to look real
  7. Glue each butterfly down on the A4 canvas evenly (Rows of three)
  8. After that put your finishing touches in.
I have chosen this because monarch butterflies are humble mature and loving The symbols that I am drawing come under this.
